An inevitability : Ai companion for elders

"... It is hard to predict how technology will change our lives in centuries or even decades to come. It is however clear that our own biological end-of-life, and other circumstances of fragile solitude, will continue to challenge both us and the people (and societal resources) who care for us. The unfavorable economics of human labor-based caregiving, and consequently their declining availability, are adding pain (and cost) to an unstoppable demographic rise in demand. Technology is destined to play a significant role in alleviating this societal burden and will likely do so using a mix of innovation, capabilities, data and Ai skills that collectively amount to perceived intelligence, camaraderie and even empathy where loneliness prevails. This technological presence will accompany us into places where caregivers can’t or won’t go, and as such will become indispensable. Bringing technology-based Companionship into the lives of those who have none will not be without challenges, but if we must get there, it’s time we got going. Our aim is to realize this inevitability in a timely fashion that delivers profound value to all involved – the people it serves, their families and caregivers, and Aileen’s shareholders who made it possible. "
